I was wanting to reblog my poem that I wrote my mom in 2001 and turned into an e-card for her, but something happened to my original post. So I’m posting it again.

This poem I wrote for a Hope Writers challenge was in my memories today and I wanted to share it! 😁
Speak to me lord for I am listening
My heart is an OPEN book and you are the author
I want my life to be your story
Because only your words are life giving water
Use me lord to write your words
I want to be OPEN
To share what I’ve learned
Because only you can save this broken and hurting world

Since today is Stephen King’s birthday, I wanted to share this article of writing quotes from Writers Digest.
This is a devotional that I had written in 2019 and submitted to Compel Training as a part of their devotional writing contest. It wasn’t selected, so I decided that I would share it to my blog, which you can read at the link below.
But, I also have an ESV Interleaved Bible and decided that I wanted to print it off and put it in my Bible as a reminder of the first time I ever wrote and submitted a devotional for a writing contest. It was a fun learning experience and I’m hoping with practice that I can be able to write more in the future. 😁
I wrote this poem 11 years ago for a contest that K-LOVE radio was having. I created a video to read and post to YouTube. You can see the video at the end of this post.
You ask me “Why Jesus?”
So here is my story
To thank him for what he’s done for me
And give him all the glory
I came before the Lord, broken & ashamed
My sins had made me dirty & left a crimson stain
But God in his infinite love already had a plan
To send his son to die on the cross
And save the souls of man
He welcomed me with open arms
And cleansed me, white as snow
His spirit is now within me
Wherever I may go
I found his promises are true
And his love will never cease
He is our counselor, mighty God
Everlasting Father & Prince of Peace
